Straighter teeth with clear, removable aligners
Invisalign® uses a series of clear, custom trays to gently move your teeth over time, so you can improve your smile without metal braces.
Invisalign® is a type of clear aligner therapy. Instead of brackets and wires, you wear a series of thin, clear plastic trays made to fit your teeth. Each set is planned to move your teeth a small amount. You switch to a new set on a regular schedule, and over time your teeth shift toward the position in your plan. Because the trays are removable, you can take them out to eat, brush and floss.
Straighter teeth are not only about looks. Crowded or overlapping teeth can be harder to clean, which may raise the risk of cavities and gum disease. Some bite problems can also cause uneven wear or jaw strain. Many adults and teens like aligners because they are hard to notice, fit easily into work and school life, and usually need fewer emergency visits than traditional braces.
At Progressive Dental Office in Hialeah, we start with an exam to make sure your teeth and gums are healthy enough to begin. We take records of your teeth and talk honestly about whether aligners are a good fit for your goals. If they are, we map out your treatment and check your progress at regular visits. If another option would work better for you, we will tell you that too.

How it works, step by step.
Consultation and exam
We check your teeth, gums and bite, talk about your goals and see if aligners are a good fit.
Records and plan
We take impressions or scans, photos and X-rays so your custom treatment can be planned.
Wear your aligners
You wear each set of trays as directed and switch to the next set on schedule.
Check-ins and retainers
We see you regularly to track progress, then fit you with retainers to help hold your new smile.
Your comfort
Most patients feel some pressure or tightness for a day or two when they start a new set of aligners. That feeling usually means the trays are working, and it tends to fade quickly. The smooth plastic is often gentler on cheeks and lips than brackets. If any edge rubs or bothers you, let us know and we can help. We will explain comfort tips at your consultation.
Healing & aftercare
There is no recovery time with aligners, but results depend on you. Aligners typically need to be worn about 20 to 22 hours a day. Take them out to eat or drink anything but water, and brush before putting them back in. When treatment ends, wearing your retainer as directed is the key to keeping teeth from drifting back. Regular cleanings help keep your smile healthy throughout.
Cost, insurance & financing
The cost of Invisalign® depends on how much your teeth need to move, how long treatment takes and whether refinements are needed. Some dental plans include orthodontic benefits that may cover part of aligner treatment. We accept CareCredit and can discuss financing options so you can spread out payments. We always give you the cost before we start, so you can plan with confidence.

Common questions
Treatment time depends on how much your teeth need to move. Some minor cases may take several months, while more complex cases can take a year or longer. Wearing your aligners as directed is one of the biggest factors in staying on track. We will give you an estimated timeline after reviewing your records.
Most people describe the feeling as pressure rather than pain. It is usually strongest for the first day or two with each new set of trays and then fades. Over-the-counter pain relievers, if they are safe for you, and soft foods can help. If something feels sharp or wrong, call us.
No. You should take your aligners out to eat and to drink anything other than plain water. This protects the trays from damage and staining and keeps food from being trapped against your teeth. After eating, brush your teeth or at least rinse well before putting your aligners back in.
For many mild to moderate cases, clear aligners can work very well. Some complex bite problems may be better treated with traditional braces or other approaches. During your exam, we will look at your teeth and explain honestly which option is likely to suit your case and why.
Yes. Teeth naturally tend to drift back toward their old positions, especially in the first months after treatment. A retainer helps hold your new smile in place. Most patients wear it full-time at first, then mainly at night. We will tell you exactly how and when to wear yours.
