A smile that feels truly like you
A smile makeover combines cosmetic and restorative treatments into one thoughtful plan, built around your goals, your health and your budget.
A smile makeover is not one single procedure. It is a personalized plan that may combine treatments such as whitening, bonding, crowns, clear aligners, implants or gum care. The goal is a smile that looks balanced and natural, and that is healthy enough to last. Some people need only two or three small changes. Others are ready for a bigger transformation. Either way, the plan is built for you, step by step, so you always know what comes next.
How you feel about your smile can affect how often you laugh, speak up or show up in photos. Chipped, stained, worn or missing teeth can also make chewing harder and may lead to bigger problems over time. A good makeover looks at both sides: how your teeth look and how well they work. Fixing the health of your teeth and gums first often helps cosmetic results look better and last longer.
At Progressive Dental Office in Hialeah, Dr. Jonathan Guzman and Dr. Jovanny Guzman start by listening. We ask what you like, what bothers you and what you want to change. Then we examine your teeth, gums and bite and walk you through your options in plain language. You can move at your own pace, and we can split treatment into phases if that works better for your schedule or budget.
Is a smile makeover right for you?
- You hide your smile in photos or when you laugh
- Your teeth are stained, chipped, worn down or uneven
- You have gaps, crowding or teeth that look out of line
- Old fillings or crowns look dark or no longer match
- You are missing one or more teeth
- You want several issues fixed with one clear plan
- You have a big event coming up and want to plan ahead
How it works, step by step.
Listen and examine
We talk about your goals, then check your teeth, gums and bite and take any X-rays or photos we need.
Build your plan
We explain which treatments could help, in what order, and how long each phase may take.
Treat health first
Any cavities, gum problems or bite issues are usually addressed before cosmetic work begins.
Shape and refine
We complete the cosmetic steps and check how everything looks and feels, making small adjustments as needed.
Your comfort
Many cosmetic treatments, like whitening and bonding, often need little or no numbing at all. For treatments that do, such as crowns or implants, we use local anesthetic and check in with you often. If you feel nervous about the dentist, please tell us. We will explain your numbing and comfort options at your consultation, take breaks when you need them and never rush you.
Healing & aftercare
Recovery depends on the treatments in your plan. Whitening and bonding usually have no downtime, though teeth may feel a bit sensitive for a few days. Crowns, implants and gum care take longer to settle. To help your results last, brush twice a day, floss daily, limit stain-causing drinks and keep your regular cleanings. A night guard may be suggested if you grind your teeth.
Cost, insurance & financing
The cost of a smile makeover depends on how many teeth are involved, which treatments you choose and whether health issues need care first. Purely cosmetic work is often not covered by insurance, but restorative parts of your plan, like crowns or fillings, may be partly covered. We accept CareCredit and can discuss financing options. We always give you the cost before we start, so there are no surprises.

Common questions
It depends on your goals. A makeover may include whitening, tooth-colored bonding, crowns, clear aligners, implants or gum treatment. Some people need only one or two of these, while others benefit from a mix. After your exam, we explain which options fit your teeth and why, so you can decide what feels right for you.
Simple makeovers using whitening or bonding may be finished in one or two visits. Plans that include aligners, crowns or implants often take several months because each step needs time to heal or settle. We give you an estimated timeline during your consultation and can break treatment into phases that fit your life.
That is the goal. We look at the shape of your face, lips and gums, along with the shade and size of your teeth, to plan changes that suit you. You can share photos of smiles you like, and we will talk honestly about what is realistic for your teeth.
Dental insurance usually does not cover treatment done only for looks, such as whitening. However, parts of a makeover that restore health or function, like fillings, crowns or replacing missing teeth, may be partly covered. We can review your benefits with you and explain what to expect before treatment begins.
Yes. Many patients choose to complete treatment in phases to spread out time and cost. We usually start with any health needs, such as cavities or gum care, and then move on to cosmetic steps. Your plan stays flexible, and we can adjust the order as your needs change.
